Electrical Fault cause of fire the at Sigatoka Methodist School

Fire Investigators have uplifted the sub meter box from the Sigatoka Methodist Primary School premises and at this initial stage believe the fire that destroyed part of the school could have been as a result of an electrical fault.

However investigations continue to determine the true cause of the fire.

Meanwhile another two fire cases were reported in the last 48 hours. A bure house belonging to a 66 year old farmer of Koronubu was completely destroyed in a fire on Monday 16 September at 9:40pm. Estimated cost is believed to be $300 and the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

In the second incident also in Ba, a 65 year old farmer lost his 2 bedroom corrugated and timber house in a fire on Tuesday 17 September at around 10am.

The house was occupied by two cane cutters but was vacant at the time of incident.  Cost of damage is estimated to be $6000. Cause of fire is also unknown as investigations continue.
