EMINENT PERSONS GROUP MEETS WITH PRIME MINISTER

The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Eminent Persons Group today began consultations with Prime Minister and MSG Chairman, Voreqe Bainimarama.

The group is in Fiji this week and will be carrying out consultations with government, non government organisations and the private sector.

Following consultations with members and stakeholders of the MSG,  the group will review the MSG performance over the past 25 years, drive and lead the formation of the proposed Melanesian Vision and Plan.

The proposed Melanesian and Vision Plan will be presented to the MSG Leaders Meeting on 20-21 June 2013 in New Caledonia.

The EPG consists of Chairman, Kaliopate Tavola representing Fiji, Solomon Islands MP, Manasseh Sogavere ; Vanuatu MP, Joe Natuman; Roch Wamytan representing the FLNKS of New Caledonia; and Leonard Louma representing Papua New Guinea.

The group also met with Minister for Education, Filipe Bole this morning.
