Ravinesh Ronesh Lal from Nadi who is alleged to have created a fake Facebook account by using the profile information and picture of a well known announcer has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court today.
The 27yr old was alleged for displaying electronic items for sale, exchanging information such as contacts from the group whereby sale proposals took place while it is also alleged that victims of this case deposited money into Lal’s bank account but never received anything.
Lal then allegedly deactivated the fake account after the sale had taken place.
Meanwhile, Ravinesh Lal who is charged with three counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception was granted bail by Magistrate Hettiwattage Somaratne under the condition not to use his Facebook account, not to reoffend and is not allowed to interfere with witnesses under his bail, as the case will be recalled on the 21st of next month.
