Fiji Airways and Pacific Sun Improve On-Time Performance Again for April 2014

Friday, 9 May 2014: Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, and Pacific Sun, its regional and domestic subsidiary, today reported their April 2014 on-time performance (OTP) results.

Fiji Airways reported consistent results for April, with an on-time performance of 87.8%, compared to 87.6% in March and 82.7% in February.

Pacific Sun delivered its best on-time performance in the past eight months, reporting 96%, compared to 93.6% in March and 92.8% in February.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO comments: “The results of April are generally better than expected, as one of our A330s was out of service until the 24th. Even with that, our operational team managed to minimise disruptions as best as we could. I’m happy with the consistency we’ve had with OTP, and we’re focussed on improving even further.”

He added: “Pacific Sun, soon to be Fiji Link, continues its sterling performance and full credit to the team for this amazing result of 96% OTP. By any international aviation standards, this is a spectacular result.”

The on-time performance for both airlines is available on the Fiji Airways website: http://www.fijiairways.com/about-fiji-airways/on-time-performance/.

OTP is a global airline industry benchmark which measures aircraft flight departures as being on time if they depart from the gate within 15 minutes of the airline’s scheduled departure time.
