Fiji Airways and Pacific Sun Report On-Time Performance for February 2014

Monday, 10 March 2014: Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, and Pacific Sun, its regional and domestic subsidiary, today reported their February 2014 on-time performance (OTP) results.

Fiji Airways reported continued improvements to its OTP results, with a performance of 82.7% in February, compared to 80% for January 2014 and 78% for December 2013.

Pacific Sun continued its outstanding on-time performance, reporting 92.8% in February, compared to 94.1% in January and 93.5% in December.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO commented: “I’m happy with our performance for February, considering the adverse weather conditions we face in the Fiji storm season. Weather and technical aircraft issues drove our results for February, however continued diligence by our entire team kept disruptions to a minimum. In the past 6 months (September 2013 – February 2014), Fiji Airways has had an average on-time performance of 82.5%, while Pacific Sun has had an average of 92.7%. This shows that both airlines are tracking well above industry standards.”

The on-time performance for both airlines is available on the Fiji Airways website: http://www.fijiairways.com/about-fiji-airways/on-time-performance/ .

OTP is a global airline industry benchmark which measures aircraft flight departures as being on time if they depart from the gate within 15 minutes of the airline’s scheduled departure time.
