Fiji Airways and Pacific Sun Report On-Time Performance for October 2013

Friday, 8 November 2013: Fiji Airways, Fiji national airline, and Pacific Sun, its regional and domestic subsidiary, delivered another month of improved on-time performance (OTP) for October 2013.

OTP is a global airline industry benchmark which measures aircraft flight departures as being on time if they depart from the gate within 15 minutes of the airline’s scheduled departure time.

Fiji Airways reported another consistent on-time performance for October of 88.3%, after reporting an on-time performance of 89% in September. This compared to 70.4% OTP in August.

Pacific Sun continued its impressive OTP of 93.4% for October, compared to 94.6% in September and 93.9% in August.

Most airlines worldwide regard OTP at or above 80% as exceptional.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO commented: “We’re seeing some consistency now from September onwards, and we’re obviously pleased. Our internal taskforce continues to move forward to address all major delay factors within our control, and we’re certainly not stopping here. I’m confident we’ll continue to improve even further. For those customers who have experienced disruptions on us in October, I apologise personally.”
