Fiji Airways Formalises ATR 72 Acquisition for Pacific Sun

Thursday, 24th October 2013: Fiji Airways has today announced that it has signed the operating lease with Avation PLC for a new ATR 72-600 aircraft to be delivered in April 2014 and operated by its subsidiary Pacific Sun.

Following the signature of an LOI in July, Fiji Airways and Avation PLC have now executed the operating lease documentation. The aircraft is on a 12-year lease term.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO, said: “The additional new ATR will help to cement the market leader position of Pacific Sun in the South Pacific. We’re committed to adding capacity in both domestic and regional markets with this new ATR 72-600.”

Avation PLC, (LSE: AVAP) is a Singapore-based aircraft leasing company which purchases commercial passenger aircraft and leases them to airlines.
