Fiji qualifies in Bowl Quarterfinal for the first time ever

Digicel 7s team will now play the bowl quarterfinals for the first time ever, after a disappointing defeat against Australia, 21-12.

Play maker,Joji Ragamate scored the first try in the second minute of play for Fiji to lead 5-0.

Australia continued to fight back with two converted tries to lead halftime, 14-5.

Tom Crusack of Australia helped his by scoring the opening try of the second half, followed by a conversion that increased their lead,21-5.

Ulaiasi Lawavou came out strongly scoring the second try for Fiji, but it wasn’t enough as they got defeated by the Aussies.
The 7s team committed a lot of handling errors, lacked communication and players gave possession away was where Australia took advantage to win the match.

Earlier Fiji also loss to Scotland in their first pool match 14-12.

Fiji will now play in the bowl quarterfinals for the first time ever.

Our last pool match is against Portugal at 8.34 tonight.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.33pm tomorrow with the Cup semifinals at 5.35pm tomorrow.

The Cup final will be played at 8.30pm tomorrow.
