The newly named Fiji Rugby under-20 squad headed down to Buckhurst Park- Suva Thursday morning, for a training session with Cricket Fiji coaches and development officers. Known for their power and speed, the U20 Rugby side spent the morning learning the technical side of the game of Cricket, being taught skills in batting, fielding, bowling and the all-popular run out throws.U20 Fiji

The event was an exciting moment for Fijian Sport with both sports set to battle it out in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup and IRB Rugby World Cup respectively in 2016 and 2015. Although Cricket is a sport that is historically been shadowed by the almost religious following of Rugby in Fiji, it was clear the natural sporting ability of the Rugby players caught the eye of several of the Cricket development officers as the drills progressed.

The Fiji Rugby U20 squad will head to Portugal, Europe on May 12th to take part in the 2015 World Rugby U20 Trophy. Fiji Rugby have drawn Pool A and will play against Georgia, Uruguay as well as host nation Portugal.
