Fiji to take on Australia in the Quarters

Fiji has secured a spot in the Cup Quarterfinals where they will take on Australia, after defeating Portugal in their last pool match last night, 34-7.

The national side showed some commitment compared to their previous game against Spain.

Donasio Ratubuli scored Fiji’s first try before Portugal bounced back to level the scores.

Speedster and Hong Kong 7s player of the tournament, Samisoni Viriviri ran over for their second try after being set up by Emosi Mulevoro.

Jasa Veremalua scored the third try after some aggressive counter rucking by Nemani Nagusa.

Leone Nakarawa scored after coming off the bench in the second half before Benito Eremasi scored two successive tries.

In other quarterfinals, New Zealand will meet USA at 1:50pm, Samoa will play South Africa at 2:12pm and Scotland face France at 2:34pm.
