29th May 2014, Suva, Fiji – Fiji Television Ltd (Fiji TV) today announces the launching of its new premium channel.
Fiji TV made a historical move today in its 22 years of Television when it partnered Mai TV to bring compelling content to its Fiji residents only. The FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on 13 June 2014 and will air on Fiji TV ‘s premium Direct-To-Home satellite channel SKY Pacific.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Fijian Holdings Limited, the parent company of Fiji TV, Nouzab Fareed, states that this is a first for Fiji TV to have a Premium Channel on the SKY Pacific platform where it will show the FIFA World Cup in partnership with Mai TV. This exciting deal will be welcomed by our Pay TV football fans or anyone in Fiji who is interested to witness the 20th Football World Cup. This is a commercial deal which is the first for its kind for Fiji TV and will look forward to future partnership with Mai TV.
Head of SKY, Nitesh Lal stated that sky subscribers will be able to access the premium channel by paying a one off fees of $50. This will enable them to access LIVE coverage of more than 60 FIFA games over the 32 days period including replays and highlights. We urge those customers who wish to subscribe to Sky for FIFA World Cup 2014 to contact Sky Office at the earliest to avoid disappointment as we have lead time for installation and FIFA is just around the corner.
Mr Lal says: “We are happy to have the World Cup event made available to our Sky Subscribers and football enthusiasts in Fiji who want to watch FIFA games through our direct-to-home satellite services”.
