FIJIAN FOREIGN MINISTER HOLD TALKS WITH INDIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER

In the margins of the Asian-African Conference the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met with the Hon. Sushma Swaraj, the Minister for External Affairs of India.

During their brief meeting, the two Ministers discussed ways to better enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Some of the issues they discussed involved the $70 million aid to sugar industry for Fiji, the transfer of the land for the Indian chancery as well as a proposed grant of $5 million for village development.

Fiji also looks forward to have the visa on arrival agreement reciprocated by India.

The Hon. Sushma Swaraj, the Minister for External Affairs of India also expressed her appreciation to Fiji for successfully hosting the visit of Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi last year.
