FIJI’S PIONEER FOR TRAVELLING INDUSTRY PASSES AWAY

One of Fiji’s pioneers in the travel industry Don Collingwood has passed away at the age of 69.

Late Collingwood  a pilot and business man who established the only flying school in Fiji known as the Pacific Flying School in Nadi, who was also the founder of Fiji’s own  domestic and inter island airline company, Pacific Sun in the 1980’s which came under the name of Sunflower Airlines and changed to Sun Air in time.

Late Mr Collingwood first arrived in Fiji in 1974 from New Zealand and made his mark in the Fijian airline industry that developed the mode of air travel in Fiji to the Pacific.

He passed away early Saturday morning in Lautoka Hospital where he was admitted and receiving treatment, Late Collingwood has left by his two children and nine grandchildren.

Meanwhile, the funeral for the Late Don Collingwood will be held on Wednesday at 11.00amin Nadi, while the venue for the funeral is yet to be confirmed.
