It is clear that a total of $3 million is needed by the Fiji Rugby Union to organize an IRB World Sevens tournament in the country.
This comes after the plans to host an IRB Sevens leg in 2015 as Fiji has never hosted an IRB World Sevens Series Tournament although Fiji being a prominent side in the IRB.
An IRB representative, Ms Beth Cotter present at the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania and International 7’s yesterday confirmed that the Union need the relevant amount of money to organize such a tournament in the country and said that other related issues needed to be discussed upon.
Meanwhile, Samoan Rugby 7s side has won the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania and International 7’s beating Fiji 31-17 in the final in the Oceania grade.
