Miss World Fiji Charlene Tafuna’i urged members of the Suva Rotary Club to support her efforts to raise funds for the CWM Children’s hospital.

Miss Tafuna’i was speaking to the Rotarians at the Grand Pacific Hotel lunch as part of her quest for the Miss World crown.

She told those present the funds would be used for the purchase of a $64,000 ventilator, a medical machine that aids children with their breathing.

Her efforts are a part of a Miss World charity called Beauty with a Purpose that encourages contestants as part of competition to raise funds for charity.  Each contestant can choose her own.

Ms.Tafuna’i told the Rotarians in her presentation that she has visited the ward during her Miss World Fiji competition and saw the need for more equipment, she selected the ventilator after conferring with the doctors.

The Beauty with a Purpose fundraising efforts will continue to the time that she leaves for London for the final competition on December 14.
