HEALTH MINISTER TO INSPECT WESTERN FACILITIES

Minister for Health, Doctor Neil Sharma today began his tour of hospitals and health centers in the Western Division.

While on tour, Dr Sharma will be inspecting health facilities and focus on key areas such as service delivery, human resource and board of visitors.

“The  Health Ministry is trying its best to provide better health care facilities to the people of the country and urgent steps are being taken to address issues which might hinder these deliverables,” Dr Sharma said.

Dr Sharma will also be meeting corporate organizations to have discussions on enhancing private public partnership in terms of improving health care facilities in order to provide standardized services to all Fijians.

“There are a number of projects which started this year and during this visit, we will get a fair idea on how far work has progressed,” Dr Sharma added.

Dr Sharma will in particular visit the Vatukarasa, Korolevu, Sigatoka, Nadi and Veiseisei health centers and hospitals.

Meanwhile, Dr Sharma will also be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the representatives of New Zealand Dental Association tomorrow.
