Highlanders to feature six debutants

Highlanders will feature six players that are set to make their debut in the team to face chiefs at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Friday.

Head Coach Jamie Joseph has named Ma’a Nonu to be one of them.

Alongside Nonu, are Tony Woodcock and Joe Wheeler who will make their starting debut for the Higlanders.

Liam Coltman, Fumiaki Tanaka and Hayden Parker have been named on the bench and if they come on during the match it will be their Super Rugby debut as well.

The Highlanders high profile signing Brad Thorn has been left out of the team sheet due to injury and he is expected to be available next week.

Meanwhile two Fijians will feature for the defending Super Rugby champions the Chiefs tonight.

Patrick Osborne will make his debut on the right wing while Asaeli Tikoirotuma will wear the number 11 jumper.

The Highlanders will host the Chiefs at 6.35pm tonight and the Rebels will take on the Brumbies at 8.40pm.

Tomorrow at 6.35pm, the Hurricanes will play the Blues while the Waratahs and Reds match kicks off at 8.40pm.
