Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation today met Sigatoka residents as part of her ministry’s public consultations around the country.

The consultations today gave residents the opportunity to meet and discuss issues faced by them and also to be more aware of new policies and programmes implemented by Government.

“This is an opportunity not only for questions and answer sessions but also a time to strengthen the people’s relationship with their Government,” the Honorable Minister said.

“We live in a country where there is so much potential yet we continue to see some of our fellow countrymen and women and children begging on the streets. We continue to see our senior citizens in care giving homes and violence against women and children.”

She added that the main reason for the consultation was to hear the grievances of the people and at the same time address those issues especially those pertaining to service delivery.
