Komo and Army set to fight out Suva Cricket

Saturday saw round five of the Suva Cricket league come to a head as teams fight it out to land in the top four finals positions and avoid the bottom two. In form Komo took on strong competitors BSP Titans in the Perpetual cup round. For Komo, Adulala scored 21, Tuwai 15 and Saimoni 5 and coupled with three wickets from Sai and two from Tadulala, proved too strong for the team in green. Army consolidated their recent good form with a comprehensive win over early leaders Yadrana, their third loss now in as many weeks.

In other premier league matches, VICC were outclassed by Moce 2 while the Punjabi Tigers proved too strong for Covenant Brothers. The table now sees Komo on 89.5, Army (83), BSP Titans (73), Moce 2 (72), Punjabi (67.5), Yadrana (61.5) and VICC (46), with Covenant Brothers rounding out the competition on 45.

The A-Grade competition saw a top of the table clash between the two outright leaders as Ono I Lau took on GMTM. GMTM proving why their hot contenders for promotion took 17 points away for the round leaving Ono I Lau with just 4.5.

The ladder now sees GMTM and Ono I Lau as clear leaders on 116 and 105 points respectively, followed by Oneata (88.5), SGOS (86.5), Nasaqalau (82), Moce 1 (79.5), BSP Warriors (74), Police (65), Sarafui (57.5) with Heilala (16.5) currently at the bottom.
