Komo dethrone Yadrana in Suva Cricket

All nine games were played in this weekend’s Suva Cricket League, but all eyes were on the perpetual cup between ladder leaders Yadrana and close-second placed Komo. Yadrana chose to bat first, but after a strong bowling performance by Komo were all out for just 71 runs. Komo’s batting performance was equally as impressive as their bowling, chasing down the Yadrana total inside just 11 overs.

The Win puts Komo on top of the ladder in premier league on 54 points, with Yadrana close behind on 46.5 points. It’s a very congested top of the ladder with Moce 2 on 45.5 and BSP Titans on 43.5. Next up is the newly promoted Punjabi Tigers in fifth place on 41.5 with Army (41), Covenant Brothers (24.5) and VICC currently in last place on 17.5 points. With Covenant and VICC both in danger of relegation to A-Grade if they’re not able to find some form.

In the A-Grade competition GMTM and Ono I Lau have raced to the top of the ladder on 80 and 78 points respectively. Currently the favorites for promotion if they can hold onto their early good form. Next up is Oneata (61), Nasaqalau (56.5), BSP Warriors (52.5), Police (50), Suva Grammar (48.5), Moce 1 (45), Sarafui (37) with Heilala rounding out the competition.
