KOMO GRATEFUL FOR NEW GEAR

Komo Cricket Association received a boost in their preparations for the Easter competition yesterday, receiving a donation of cricket gear from Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Addressing the Komo Cricket Association members yesterday at Albert Park, Bainimarama urged the players to work hard as they near the competition dates of the Easter tournament.

Komo Cricket Association manager Pauliasi Tuiafata said he was grateful for the donation and that it would go a long way in helping them in their efforts to win the Crompton Cup.

“This is a great help to us and we thank the Prime Minister for donating the gear. Our boys are training hard for the competition and this will really help us,” he said.

Development Manager Saiasi Fuli said the PM was due to donate another set of cricket gear to Ono Cricket Association.

“The donation stems from a request from Komo Cricket. The PM had visited Komo, Namuka, Ogea and Vanuavatu and it was during the visit that he was approached by the Komo Cricket Association,” he said.

“I guess it’s timely for these association to receive the gear as they all would be working hard, eyeing the national champion title,” he said.
