KOREAN HEALTH CARE GIANT IMPRESSES MINISTER USAMATE

The level of service provided by the Republic of Korea’s ninth largest conglomerate, Hanwha Corporation has impressed the Minister for Health and Medical Services Honorable Jone Usamate.

Minister Usamate, who is currently in Korea intends to explore opportunities within the organization for the advancement of Fiji’s health sector.

Hanwha Corporation is one of Korea’s leading health care solutions provider specializing in the applications of efficient and modernized Korean medical systems. It also develops localized and customized business solutions for both the private and public sector.

In a meeting, Hanwha’s chief executive officer Mr Jae Hong Park in Seoul, Minister Usamate said the corporation, which has business in design, planning, construction, equipping and maintenance of hospitals and other health care facilities, was a unique organization that will be able to help enhance health care services in Fiji.

“You are a very big organization and I am awed with the level of work that you do particularly your assistance in health services development.”

Minister Usamate said Fiji must tap into Hanwha’s experience of providing health care solutions which not only centers on the Korean people but also has a universal focus.

“The business models that you have briefed us on today is something we will definitely consider to ensure that our people are provided the best care when it comes to health services,” he said.

In response, Mr Park said the company looks forward to assist through most modern health concepts and practices including real care, wellness and healthy living.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has a Memorandum of Understanding with Hanwha Corporation which covers cooperation in health services and capacity building.
