Labh Pancham

Labh Pancham is perhaps the last of the Diwali celebrations. ‘Labh’ is benefit and ‘Pancham’ is fifth, meaning the fifth day of Diwali. This year the calender has Thursday 7th and also Friday as the benefit and auspicious days.

Many important activities relating to the festivities and final prayers to the books of accounts etc is also performed.

What is Labh Pancham?

‘Labh’ means Benefit. People today generally wish for matter ‘Labh’ such as: a good job, good in-laws, riches and so forth. However the scriptures also state the auspiciousness of this day in purchasing of Gold and other ornaments and other earthly assets. Many people also inaugurate new businesses and acquire new assets on this day.

But most of all this day is dedicated to Gold buying and considered lucky on this auspicious day!
