A PROMISE made to a widow in Lovu Settlement in Lautoka by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for a new home in less than a month after Tropical Cyclone Evan destroyed her home has finally been fulfilled.

Madhu Lata,a mother of two, was the head of Government’s first priority after he arrived this morning from New York following Fiji’s Chairmanship ceremony of the G77.

In 2012, Mrs Lata’s home was completely destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Evan. The Prime Minister visited her family and assured her that he would assist her in rebuilding her home.

“Without this assistance I would have found it very difficult to rebuild this home for me and my children”.

“Im so thankful to the Prime Minister and to everyone for looking after me and my children and for making this work for us”, Mrs Lata said.

The Prime Minister also toured Jasper Williams High School today to assess repair works taking place after the roof and other parts of the building structure was blown away during TC Evan.

He also took time to thank Public Works Department workers for working around the clock to ensure that the school would be ready to open its doors for students for the first term of 2013.
