Unbeaten team of the Fiji bitter 7s day one, Lomaiviti Barbarians went down after they were defeated by Army Green in the second round of elimination in a draw match, 5-5, in Prince Charles Park, Nadi, today.

They won against Cagimaira in the first round of elimination, 26-0.

Coach- Player Marika Vunibaka said they were unaware of the way the rounds were held.

“We were not aware that the first team that scores in a draw match will win, all I knew that we were going to go through sudden death, but that’s all over and I’m satisfied with the way our boys played,” he said.

Vunibaka said he is amazed at the efforts shown by the organizers of the tournament.

“I am really happy with the way the organizers of this year’s Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s help out into trying to make this successful, which is turning out to be,” he said.

Also sharing the same experience, Lomaiviti Barbarians fly-half, William Saukuru said this is the time where young players can showcase their talent and passion for rugby.

“This is a really good tournament, a lot of teams turned up and players are given the opportunity to play and show their talent,” he said.

Lomaiviti Barbarians will take on Army Red in the Bowl Quaterfinal.

Meanwhile, in the Cup Quaterfinals, Westfield will take on Red Rock, Army Green will take on Sabeto, Tale Babas will take on Western Police and hosts Nawaka will take on Tovolea.
