Low turnout for police parade

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) RusiateTudravu (pictured) today called off the Commissioner of Police’s 3rd quarterly parade.

What was initially expected to take place this morning at 6am at the FDB Foreshore, the parade was called off as the head of Operations was not satisfied with the turnout of his officers.

“As the head of Operations this is my parade to show the Acting Commissioner of Police our officers and capabilities but because of the low turnout I have made this decision”.

“This decision is solely mine and I have informed the Acting Commissioner to allow us till Monday to have the numbers in place before his inspection as I am not satisfied with what I’m seeing this morning”.

The head of Operations says it is a let down from the Operations side however he will be requiring answers from the Divisional Heads.

“I will await the report of the Divisional Police Commanders as to why the turnout is low as we were expecting a turnout of at least 700 plus, before I take further action if the need arises”.

This morning’s parade was for personnel from the Central, Southern, Eastern and Headquarters.

The 3rd quarter parade has been rescheduled to Monday 21st at the Nasova Grounds.
