A fruitful meeting was conducted this afternoon between the Executives of the Fiji Police Force and officials of the Former Police Officers Association.

The meeting was convened to address issues recently highlighted in the media regarding the payment of the Job Evaluation Exercise for serving and retired officers who served between the periods of 2004 to 2012.

There has been some misconceptions and misunderstandings regarding the payment of the JEE following the approval in 2004.

Ratu Meli while acknowledging and appreciating Government’s decision to approve the long awaited payment, said the Committee will continue to work with the Executives of the Fiji Police Force to ensure their members who are eligible for the payout are informed of what has transpired during today’s meeting.

President of the Former Police Officers Association Ratu Meli Vakarewakobau said there was never an issue of concern by the Committee or its members regarding the allocation of funds or the non-payment as being raised in the media.

Ratu Meli while acknowledging and appreciating Government’s decision to approve the long awaited payment, said the Committee will continue to work with the Executives of the Fiji Police Force to ensure their members who are eligible for the payout are informed of what has transpired during today’s meeting.
