MINISTER FOR DEFENCE MEETS WITH POLICE CHIEF

The Commissioner of Police and senior officers today officially welcomed the Minister for Defence, National Security and Immigration, Hon. Mr Timoci Natuva at the Fiji Police Headquarters.

The Hon. Mr Natuva was accorded a quarter guard as well as a traditional welcome ceremony.

A brief overview of the Fiji Police Force was conducted by the Director Planning SSP Unaisai Vuniwaqa in the presence of the Commissioner’s Command Group outlining its roles and functions as well as the internal and external challenges confronting its operations.

In his first official visit as the Hon. Minister of Defence to Police Headquarters, Mr Natuva said he was looking forward to working with the Fiji Police over the next four years.

“Following the Elections the potential is bright for Fiji and we must work together to gain the confidence of not only every Fijian but potential investors.”

“Our internal security must be maintained and we must work together to ensure law and order is at its best as it contributes to the overall growth of the economy”.

The Commissioner of Police Major General Bernadus Groenewald assured the Hon. Minister of the organisation’s support and wished him well during his term.
