MINISTER OF LABOUR AMENDS NORTHERN ROAD SHOW SCHEDULE

THE Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, Mr Jone Usamate and his team of officials will be commencing their Northern road-show from Savusavu rather than Nabouwalu as planned earlier.

The re-scheduling is due to the last minute decision by the shipping company not to travel through the Nabouwalu route on Monday causing the Ministerial team to make quick adjustments so as to meet its commitment of providing the public the opportunity for face-to-face consultations.

The road-show starts on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Provincial Administrators Conference Room in Savusavu from 2pm.

Mr Usamate said he will begin the road-show in Vanua Levu on March 21 where people in Labasa can bring their grievances forward and likewise, the same opportunity will be available for people in Seaqaqa on March 22.

The public in Nabouwalu will not be missed out as they can come with forward with any labour-related issues on March 22.

“Despite the re-scheduling, I have very keen interest in meeting members of the public especially as it presents me with the opportunity to hear their labour grievances first hand,” Mr Usamate said

The Minister said he is also looking forward to meeting members of the business communities and the local municipalities.

“I look forward to meeting with people in the north and I invite them to make use of this opportunity.”
