The Miss Fiji Pageant Association is pleased to announce that Telecom Fiji Ltd has signed up as the major sponsor for the Miss Fiji Pageant 2015 that will be held in Nadi from the 17th to 24th of October.

In accepting the $50,000 sponsorship from TFL the Miss Fiji Pageant Chairman, Mr Hirdesh Prasad expressed his gratitude for the support and how invaluable the sponsorship is to hosting such a prestigious event and especially one of such magnitude where all the municipalities are represented.

The first national Miss Fiji Pageant will bring together 10 Queens from around the country to compete for the Miss Fiji title and also to represent Fiji at the upcoming Miss Pacific Island Pageant that will be help in the Cook Islands in December.

There are 2 parts to the Miss Fiji Pageant; one is the Festival which is a weeklong event from the 17th – 24th of October at the Koroivulo Park which will include an arts village, financial inclusion village, cultural entertainment and fun games, rides and food stalls. The pageantry programme which is the contestants’ judging nights will commence from the 21st of October and will be held at the Prince Charles Park and various other venues in Nadi.

The Miss Fiji Pageant Association believes that this pageant will best represent Fiji as a nation of multiculturalism, diversity and unity. The pageant will bring people from all walks of life together from all parts of Fiji to not only celebrate in a weeklong festival of Fijian Arts and Cultural but also to find the young lady who will represent all Fijians at the Miss Pacific Island Pageant.

This pageant has been a long time coming with discussions on-going for the last 10 years but due to the support of the current Government and especially so the Hon Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure & Transport, Mr. Parveen Kumar, the Miss Fiji Pageant will now be held. We are so fortunate that with the Hon. Minister’s support this is all now possible, said Mr. Prasad.

With the support of Government and local municipalities the Miss Fiji Pageant Association was established earlier this year and tasked primarily to collaborate in organising this event and finding their representatives. The Miss Fiji Pageant Association is formed by representatives from all the municipalities around the country.

Each of the municipalities has held their own festivals over the last 9 months of the year with the exception of Levuka, which will hold its festival next week. From their festivals they have confirmed their Queens for the Miss Fiji Pageant; Miss Ba – Miss Zaira Begg, Miss Tavua – Miss Sheetal Raj, Miss Nausori – Miss Sheryl Mudaliar, Miss Nadi – Miss Seasea Misiki, Miss Suva – Miss Marie Fall, Miss Labasa – Miss Fugawai Bulivou, Miss Rakiraki – Miss Vasiti Volavola, Miss Lautoka – Miss Neha Narayan and Miss Sigatoka – Miss Adele Lingam.
