Jack’s Nadi has ended a seventeen year drought after beating favorites Ba in the final of the 2013 Vodafone sponsored Fiji Fact by three goals to one, held at Prince Charles Park this afternoon.

Wonder boy Rusiate Matarerega fired a powerful drive from close range to give the lead in the tenth minute of the first half.

Ba came back firing and Avinesh Suwamy equalized minutes later with his trademark curler.

At the breather both teams were locked at a goal each.

In the second spell Rusiate Matarerega got his second goal from a defensive blunder. Substitute Malakai Rakula put the icing on the cake when he got his first goal and Nadi’s third.

Jack’s Nadi receives fifteen thousand dollars as prize money and Ba settles for Four thousand dollars as runners up for 2013 Vodafone Fiji Fact.

Nadi last won the Fiji Fact way back in 1996 against Lautoka by four goals at the same venue, Prince Charles Park. And the hero at that time was Rusiate Matarerega’s father Watisoni Voli.

Rusiate Matarerega has been named the highest goal scorer this year with a total of five goals and Jack’s Nadi Stopper/captain has been named the player of the tournament.
