The 2014 Arya Convention is being held from 5th to 8th of June at Nadroga Arya College, Maro on the theme – Vedic Values within Political Governance and is being hosted by Nadroga Arya Samaj.
The Sabha has been taking a thematic approach to its Conventions since 1996, informs Mr. Kamlesh Arya the Media Relations Officer of the Sabha.
“The Conference themes provide a focus for discussions and challenges the delegates and members present to think outside the box”, said Mr. Arya.
“This year’s theme of Vedic Values within Political Governance is geared to look at political governance from the Vedic point of view and how the Vedic Values of unity, of cooperation, or universal brotherhood, or service to humanity, of trust and justice, of righteousness and collectiveness could influence political governance,” stated Mr. Arya.
The four days long Convention programme starting Thursday evening would hold Vedic discourses, Sports (under 19 soccer) Youth and Women’s programmes, in-house meetings and would conclude on Sunday with Official Convention and the 97th Annual General Meeting. The Convention will also see the election of the Officials of the Sabha and Members of the National Executive.
The Under 19 Soccer tournament under the Bineshwar Singh Trophy would be played in two pools:
Pool A: Nadroga Arya College, DAV College, Ba, Pt. Vishnu Deo College
Pool B: Bhawani Dayal Arya College, DAV College, Nabua, Latuoka Central College, Cuvu College
“Some 400 delegates and members of the various Local Arya Samajs, the Arya Mahila Mandals and Arya Yuva Dal are expected to gather at Nadroga Arya College,” said Mr. Arya.
