Nagusa to lead Digicel Fiji 7s squad

Nemani Nagusa was the happiest man, after being announced captain at the naming of the Digicel Fiji Sevens 12 member squad at the Digicel House in Suva, earlier today.

The 24-year-old from Rararua in Sigatoka, is confident that they will perform better in the upcoming tournaments.

“We have a good bunch of players named this year, and I really believe that we can do our job at the upcoming Hong Kong 7s,” he said.

Speaking to The Jet Newspaper, Nagusa said they have been preparing well and will go out there to perform at their best level.

“The preparations have been so far so good, and I want to thank Kolinisau, Lawavou and the rest of the old players for their contribution. We have been working together as a team and will go out there to do our very best,” he said.

Head Coach, Alivereti Dere said he has confidence in the players being selected today.

“These are the twelve players that we have seen turn up to their task for the Hong Kong 7s preparations,” he said.

The 12 players being selected are as follows;

Forwards: Nemani Nagusa, Jasa Veremalua, Ulaiasi Lawavou, jone Vota, Leone Nakarawa

Backs: Ilai Tinai, Benito Masilevu, Samisoni Viriviri, Emosi Mulevoro, Sakiusa Gavidi, Osea Kolinisau, Donasio Naturaga.

The Hong Kong 7s kicks off next weekend and Fiji is pooled with Hong Kong, Spain and Canada.
