NEW REGISTRAR AT UNIFIJI

UniFiji is happy to announce and welcome the new Registrar Pandit Kamlesh Arya ‘Arya Ratna’ who took office with effect from 3 December 2012.

He succeeds Mr. Tito Isala who had completed the contract.

Pandit Arya hails from the Friendly North and joins the University with a variety of important experiences.

HE began his career as a school teacher, became a full time trade unionist, entered Parliament and has served Fiji as its High Commissioner to Australia. He has also served Fiji Education Forum for many years and highly respected within the education sector.

He is an educationist to the core. He is regarded as one of the three architects of UniFiji. It was during his Presidency of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji that the concept of a University was revisited and the decision taken in 1956 was realized.

Prior to being appointed as the Registrar Pandit Arya has served the University as Chair of the Council appointed Physical Planning and Development Committee and Finance Committee and was one of the Foundation Members of the University Council until his appointment as the Registrar.

He is a Graduate of USP.

His down to earth personality brings greater hope to the University.
