Outrigger Fiji staff rugby team on the up

Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji staff rugby team are going in as strong contenders in the C division PRO D 3 Nadroga Rugby Union quarter final competition this weekend.

With two games away from the final play off, the team is currently in the lead on the points table and will play a determined Kesenavunivalu side.

Team full back and resort reservations manager William Work said they are the current holders of the Tui Davujukia weekly challenge Trophy.

“The team has two challenge matches left for the PRO D 3 competition and our preparations are going well”, Mr. Work stated.

The team made up of Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji staff train daily at the resorts parklands under the guidance of former Nadroga Rugby Union player Ilaisa Ratu.

Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji General Manager Peter Hopgood said it is very encouraging to see the team come out as the top seed for the competition.

“These boys have been training diligently every afternoon and they’ve shown real commitment to their team mates and to representing the resort”, Mr. Hopgood stated.

“The team has the 100 percent backing of the resort and our staff and we will be there this weekend to cheer our boys onto victory!” Mr. Hopgood continued.
