Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji staff refurbish Sigatoka Hospital children’s ward

Outrigger on the Lagoon · Fiji front office department have refurbished the children’s ward at the Sigatoka District Hospital.

The refurbishments which included replacing window frames, floor titles, window meshing, painting and replacing louvers cost around $1300.

Front office manager Michael Bali said the department decided to conduct works at the children’s hospital as their monthly community project to ensure the upkeep of the ward.

“We knew the children’s ward needed a few refurbishments so our staff and our resort engineers spent two days carrying out these works”, Mr. Bali stated.

“It’s comforting to know that these small works that we have carried out will go a long way to helping sick children recover by providing a clean well kept environment and surroundings for them”, Mr. Bali continued.

“Our resort has conducted works at the children’s ward before, however we are also very committed to the upkeep of our community projects and our efforts is to ensure the standards of our work and efforts are maintained”, he added.

Outrigger on the Lagoon · Fiji staff conduct community projects every month. To date their projects include refurbishing the Vatukarasa kindergarten, fencing Conua School, refurbishing the Sigatoka Police wives community hall as well as hosting the community drowning prevention clinics with Australian Olympic gold medalist Shane Gould and a veterinary clinic for horses.
