Pacific Destinationz, a Nadi based award winning Inbound Travel & Transport
Management company today donated key requested items to the Oncology Unit at
Lautoka Hospital consisting of a 3-tier stainless steel Trolley, a DVD Hi-Fi Micro System
and stainless steel wash basins.
The donations today is the outcome of the company’s Pinktober programme
initiative where the staff raised funds through weekly morning teas and guest
speakers throughout the month of October, 2013.
The idea of the Pinktober programme for the team was initiated by Director Finance & Operations, Mrs Lala
Sowane, who is a Breast Cancer survivor since 2008.
“We are humbled by this occasion to be able to fundraise and deliver our goal to
assist the medical team and staff at the Oncology Unit of Lautoka Hospital with their
continued hard work,” said James Sowane, Managing Director Fiji of Pacific
Destinationz.
Mr. Sowane added that “all credit must go to our hard working team and their
families who backed the idea and ran with the logistics of the weekly themed
morning teas and invited guest speakers who addressed the staff on cancer
awareness.”
“Furthermore, we are also thankful to the Officer in Charge of the Oncology Unit,
Sister Ana Raramasi for helping us identify these items needed for Ward and we
know that our small donation will be put to good use and care.”
