1. Drugs

A 29 year old farmer of Muanisolo village was arrested at Vunisea Jetty after he was found in possession of 3 parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The suspect is in police custody and the dried leaves are send for analysis.
2. Fake Notes

A 20 year old teller of Exchange and Finance Fiji Ltd office, Namaka discovered 5 x $100 (US) notes believed to be counterfeit.

The suspect is 34 year old Nigerian national who is currently in custody by Immigration department.

A total of 17 cases of fake notes have been reported to police this year.
3. Case of Interest

A 27 year old farmer of Namosi village was found unconscious inside his bedroom with wound on his forearm and thighs.

A piece of rope was also tied around his neck; the victim was conveyed to Navua hospital and was pronounced death on arrival.

The body is now kept at Navua hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
4. Man died after boat accident

4. Police investigating a case in Labasa where a man was killed after being wounded by an outboard engine propeller.

The 32 year old man was diving for fish when a 22 ft fibre glass boat went over him. He suffered wounds to his right leg.

He was conveyed to Labasa Hospital where he died.The incident happened on 9/4/13.The man died on 17/4/13.

 

 

5. Woman dies after jumping off bridge
Nausori police are investigating a case where a woman jumped off the old Rewa Bridge in Nausori yesterday at about 10 am.

A bystander saw the woman jumped into the river and immediately alerted police who swam to her assistance.

Unfortunately they could not revive her and the body is at the Nausori Hospital Mortuary.
