40 year old woman latest fatality case

A woman in her late 40s is believed to be the country’s latest fatality victim.

The victim was walking along Marine Drive, Lami when she was allegedly bumped by a vehicle driven by a 41 year old man who was heading towards Suva.

The driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle causing it to veer off the road resulting in the unfortunate accident at about 1435hrs yesterday.

The driver is in custody as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 1 compared to 4 for the same period last year.

Missing persons report

Information is being sought in relation to two missing person’s cases.Ilivema Dawai was reported missing by her relatives after she failed to return home last Friday.

She had left her aunt’s home on 16/01/15 and failed to return home whereby a report was lodged at the Lami Police Station.

Ilivema is originally from Vatutu Village in Nadi and was staying with her aunt from 12/01/15 at the Naboro Corrections Quarters. She is of slim built, 1.6m in height and has long black hair.

She was last seen wearing a white top with blue shorts and a pair of black flip flops.Anyone with information is requested to call the Lami Police station on 9905 628..

The second missing person report is that of Parneeta Nadan who was reported missing by her 25 year old husband last Sunday.

Parneeta was last seen in Suva with friends and she had informed her husband that she would return home on Saturday afternoon. However when she failed to return to their home in Davuilevu Housing a report was lodged with Police.

Parneeta was last seen wearing a brown skirt with a brown top.Anyone with information is requested to call the Totogo Police Station on 3311222.
