Police Update- 10th May 2013

1. Drugs

Police upon information raided the house of 40 year old carpenter of Caubati and found 27 bullets of dried leaves and seeds believed to be marijuana.

The dried leaves are confirmed by the analyst at Koronivia to be Indian hemp with total weight of 7.7grams.

The suspect is interviewed, charged and will appear in court today.

In another incident at Martintar, Nadi, police searched a vehicle and found 11 sachets of dried leaves wrapped in foil believed to be marijuana, the 27 year old driver of Namoli is interviewed and release awaiting analyst report.

2. Arson

Police received a report that an unknown person set fire to a sugar cane farm containing 220 tonnes of cane in Waiqele, Labasa. The property belonged to 73 year old Amra Wati and estimated cost of damage is $4000.00. Investigations continuing.
