AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji Her Excellency Margret Eileen Twomey today presented her credentials to His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau at Government House.

High Commissioner Twomey has served as Ambassador to the Russian Federation and Ambassador to East Timor.

High Commissioner Twomey started her career as Desk officer, East Europe Analyst in 1989 after which she joined the Australian High Commission in Fiji as Deputy High Commissioner in 2002.

Ms Twomey, who speaks French and Russian, has represented her country in diplomatic missions in Russian and East Timor in various capacities.

PRESIDENT RECEIVES CREDENTIALS FROM NEW ZEALAND HIGH COMMISSIONER TO FIJI

His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau this morning received the credentials of New Zealand High Commissioner Designate to Fiji His Excellency Mark Ramsden at Government House.

H.E Ramsden has served as a Senior Policy Officer, Human Rights Division, Deputy High Commissioner, Port Moresby, Bougainville Liaison Officer (based in Arawa, Bougainville) and Deputy High Commissioner, Port Vila.

H.E Ramsden was Acting Head of Mission, New Zealand High Commission in Suva.

Ratu Epeli hopes the existing relations between Fiji and New Zealand will continue to grow from strength to strength.
