PRIME MINISTER BAINIMARAMA VISITS TAVEUNI SCHOOL

During the first day of his official  tour around Taveuni, the head of government Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today visited South Taveuni High School.

During his visit there, the Prime Minister donated $20,000 for the completion of two classrooms that will accommodate Year 12 and Year 13 students. 

The funding, which is sourced from the Office of the Prime Minister, commits the Fijian Government to provide safe and quality learning environment for students. 

School principal Anil Shankar thanked the Prime Minister for personally visiting the school and inspecting the facilities there. 

“This is a timely assistance provided by government and we are thankful to the Prime Minister.”

Mr Shankar highlighted that this year, the school is aniticipating an increase in the school roll due to government’s assistance. 

While in Taveuni, PM Bainimarama inspected works at the Somosomo hydro project which is expected to open in October this year.
