Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has instructed the immediate refurbishment and assistance to Nairukuruku District School and Vunidawa District School, both in the province of Naitasiri.
The head of government visited the school after attending to official engagements in the province and was overwhelmed with the determination by students to pursue their education despite the conditions of their classrooms. The Prime Minster was also proud to hear these young students speak openly about what they hoped to achieve once they completed primary and secondary schools.
Prime Minister Bainimarama inspected the general works and conditions of the school and recognised areas which needed critical consideration and government support. At the same time, the Prime Minister called on students and teachers in both schools to work with each other and encouraged them to work hard.
Management at both schools were also able to meet and convey to the Prime Minister the importance of education and the need for the students to study hard.
For the students in both schools, it was the first time for them to meet personally with the Prime Minister.
