Seven people will be produced at the Labasa Magistrates Court today charged with the alleged unlawful cultivation of dangerous drugs.
The seven were arrested following a number of raids during Operation Sasamaki in the Northern Division over the last few days.
Meanwhile more than 1,900 plants believed to be marijuana was uprooted from two separate farms yesterday. The first report was received at the Tukavesi Police Station where the Operation Sasamaki team uprooted 1814 plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 5cm – 2.4m.
In the second report received at the Savusavu Police Station the team uprooted 94 plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 1.14m – 2.3m from the farm of a 21 year old. He is currently in custody awaiting analysis.
