Sevens Maestro, Waisale Serevi and Tomasi Cama Senior started training the Digicel Fiji 7s team in Hong Kong yesterday.

Fiji Rugby Union’s High Performance Unit General Manger, Mike Ryan said it’s a pleasure to have them working closely with the team.

“To have additional experienced people working with the team, especially with Serevi and Cama, is absolutely fantastic,” he said.

Tomasi Cama Senior is helping out the team as a trainer while Serevi will be assisting the team, since he is on a promotional trip.

“Last year we used Tomasi Cama to be trainer at the ground, since he lives in China,” Ryan said.

Speaking to The Jet Newspaper from Hong Kong, Nadroga’s Ulaiasi Lawavou said the team is very blessed to be working with the two former well known 7s rugby stars.

“I have always been watching them play during their times, and we as the team have been so blessed to be training with Serevi and Cama, which is turning out good,” he said.

Lawavou said this is also a challenge for the team.

“Serevi and Cama have set a platform in Hong Kong 7s, and  this will be a really good challenge to make us try our very best to beat it and retain the title,” he said.

Head Coach, Alevereti Dere played with Tomasi Cama Senior and Serevi in the late 80’s and 90’s.
