Telecom Fiji Ltd is the major sponsor for the Miss Fiji Pageant.

This was confirmed by the Association recently after TFL presented the Association with the $50,000 cheque last week.

Association chairman, Hirdesh Prasad expressed his gratitude and in a recent statement said “how invaluable the sponsorship is to hosting such a prestigious event and especially one of such magnitude where all the municipalities are represented.”

“This pageant has been a long time coming with discussions on-going for the last 10 years but due to the support of the current Government and especially so the Hon Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure & Transport, Mr. Parveen Kumar, the Miss Fiji Pageant will now be held.”

“We are so fortunate that with the Honorable Minister’s support, this is all now possible,” said Mr. Prasad.

The Association was positive that the Pageant would best represent the country’s ideals of multiculturalism, diversity and unity and thus the sponsorship would go a long way to help achieve these goals.

The pageant is mirrored on the Miss Pacific Island pageant criteria.

Contestants will therefore undergo private judging, public judging, talent show, sarong judging, research presentation and the judging of their traditional attire.

The pageant continues until the 24th of this month when Miss Fiji will be crowned out of the 10 contestants.
