Tickets On Sale For Coral Coast Sevens

Tickets for the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens go on sale today, Wednesday 16 October.

The tickets for Fiji’s premier sevens tournament, to be held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on November 14-16, are available at Fiji Sports Council, Fiji Broadcasting Corporation House and select TOTAL service stations.

Prices for the 24-team men’s competition, the ‘champion of champions’ for the Pacific Rim, and the 12-team women’s section, up from eight last year, have been frozen from 2012.

Organisers will for also the first time offer free entry on the opening day, Thursday, which kicks off at 12 noon.

“The Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens has established itself as one of the most competitive tournaments just below the Sevens World Series and fans can again ‘discover the passion’ with some outstanding sevens action,” said Tournament Director Nick Jordan.

“At $5 for entry to the embankment, $10 for a seat in the grandstand on Friday and $15 for a covered seat on Saturday it is a wonderful opportunity to see the best local talent take on champion sides from around the Pacific in the spiritual home of the sport.

Teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa and the USA have confirmed their attendance while the Coastal Great Eight Sevens (November 1-2) will determine the finest Fijian clubs to contest for the $FJ30,000 first prize.

Last year’s tournaments were won by Red Rock, who beat Police 19-12 in the men’s final, and the Aussie Pearls who scored after the final hooter to beat Marist Seahawks 22-19.

“Apart from the non-stop, exiting rugby action there will be prizes for spectators and fans can rub shoulders with world record pointscorer Ben Gollings who will be unveiled on the Walk of Fame in Fiji’s ‘Rugby Town’,” continued Jordan.

“Plus we have a few other surprises in store for those that get along to Lawaqa Park.”

The tournament is sponsored by Bayleys Real Estate (Fiji), Goodman Fielder Fiji, Total Fiji Ltd, Fiji Airways, Outrigger on the Lagoon • Fiji, Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa, The Naviti Resort, FBC, CFL, The Fiji Times, Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa, Coastal Rental Cars, Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa, Nivea Men, Tappoo Group of Companies, Fiji Chemicals Diversey, Serevi Rugby and Sigatoka River Safari.
