TRAVEL ADVISORY TO EBOLA AFFECTED COUNTRIES

The Ministry of Health has issued a travel advisory to caution Fijians against traveling to West Africa due to the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) there.

The Fiji Ministry of Health advises all Fijian citizens against non-essential travel to Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria until further notice.

This follows the advice of the World Health Organisation, which has declared an International Public Health Emergency to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Ministry wants to reassure the people of Fiji that, to date, there have been no reported cases of EVD in the South Pacific, including Fiji.

Anyone interested in learning more about the EVD outbreak in West Africa can visit the Ministry of Health’s website, www.health.gov.fj
