NOVEMBER 13, 2015. For businesses and farms that share Vakabalea Road recent upgrading work has significantly improved access, especially in rainy weather, according to Remesio Naqoro, Fulton Hogan Hiways (FHHJV) Tanuovo Depot Supervisor.
The road, located 5 kms outside of Navua towards Pacific Harbour hosts a Crest Chicken Poultry Farm, a Water Authority of Fiji water treatment plant as well as 22 family vegetable and livestock farms.
Mr. Naqoro said that because the road is located in a low-lying area it often gets flooded, and working under its contract with the Fiji Roads Authority, FHHJV has raised it by 150mm, resheeted its one km length with improved drainage that has addressed the problems primarily associated with the weather.
