Debutant Jone Vota scored his first ever try in the tournament that helped sealed their win against USA in the bowl quarterfinal, 29-12.
Captain Setefano Cakau led his side through the battle scoring the opening try, 5-0, followed by a second try from Joji Raqamate.
USA’s Colin Hawley bounced back with a try, right after a failed conversion from Joji Raqamate, 10-7.
Fiji, then led halftime with another try from Ilai Tinai, 17-7.
Zach Test of USA scored the opening try in the second half, 17-12.
Fiji’s forward Ulaiasi Lawavou then charged through the USA’s defense to help up set up another try for Nemani Nagusa, followed by a conversion by Joji Ragamate that extended their lead, 24-12.
Vota scored the last try, as they now qualify themselves to the bowl semifinal against France.
